As a mom of four who is always busy, finding time for myself often feels like another task I need to do. But taking care of my mind and body is very important, especially when life gets hectic. This isn't just about treating myself occasionally; it's about making sure every day I do something good for myself.

Every morning, before anyone else is awake, I find a quiet moment for myself. I sit and clear my mind of any worries or busy thoughts from yesterday or thoughts about today. This helps me feel calm and ready for the day. Studies show that doing this regularly can help anyone, even parents, feel less stressed and more focused.

It's also good to take breaks from phones and computers. I try to make sure that when I'm spending time with my family, I'm not distracted by my phone. This helps us all connect better and enjoy our time together more.

Writing in my journal is another way I help clear my mind. I write down what's bothering me or what I'm thinking about. This helps me understand my feelings better and sometimes even solve my problems.

Eating right is important too. With a busy schedule, it can be hard, but I try to eat lots of fruits, veggies, and grains. This makes me and my family feel better and have more energy. Eating foods like blueberries and spinach that are good for you can also make you feel happier, according to health experts.

“I also make sure to move every day. Whether it's yoga early in the morning or a bike ride with the family, staying active is important.”

It helps get rid of stress and makes me feel good. Doctors say that being active is a great way to fight off feelings of sadness or worry.

Getting enough sleep is super important, even if it's hard sometimes. I have a bedtime routine that helps me relax and get ready to sleep. Good sleep helps your brain and body heal and stay healthy.

One night, when I was putting my youngest to bed after a tough day, she told me she loves it when I'm happy. That made me realize how much my mood affects my kids. It made me want to keep up with these self-care habits. It’s not just for me—it shows my kids how to take care of themselves too.

Taking care of yourself as a busy mom means finding ways to balance everything. It's about turning normal daily things into chances to care for yourself. This journey changes as our lives change, but by keeping up with these habits, we not only stay healthy but also teach our kids to value their health as they grow.

Caring for yourself is more than just a choice; it's something special we give to ourselves and pass on to our children. It’s truly important and makes life better and happier.
